Current Project

Synopsis: After having seen over 1,600 plays these past 21 theatrical seasons, written 16 self-published books, felt that the “Black experience” is unique and quite interesting, learned many large U.S. cities, and keenly observed human behavior, as well as being one who gains extreme joy & satisfaction from telling OUR stories, I’m now trying my hand as a playwright. This theatrical two-act play looks at a modern African-American family. The highly-educated and career-minded parents, who were raised working-class, strove very hard to achieve the American Dream, the white picket fence, and the rose garden, and now lead a very comfortable middle-class existence. Their three grown children, raised in the ‘burbs, well-nurtured, part of the “entitled” generation, and provided ample opportunity for success, face their own challenges in life and ‘come to Black Jesus’ moments. Get comfy, sit back, and check out the good times, journeys, lessons learned, disappointments, dreams deferred, and unfulfilled promise of both generations tryin’ their best to “keep it real”…
